Plantronics CS70N Wireless Headset

From Burlingame, California comes the observation that while a wireless headset, or cordless headset, can be sometimes considered a luxury, your basic telephone headset is “a necessity.”

That’s from officials of Plantronics (News – Alert), who describe their top-selling wireless telephone headsets, the Plantronics CS55 Wireless Headset and the Plantronics CS70N Wireless Headset, explaining the differences between the two.

The Plantronics CS55 Wireless Headset “offers the best from both worlds,” they say, as it has “two wearing styles, as both over the headband and ear loops are included.” It gives ten hours of nonstop talk time. And it works off the 1.9 GhZ frequency with DECT (News – Alert) 6.0 wireless technology, as do most headsets. It’s pitched as an option “ideal for first time buyers looking for a wireless telephone headset,” because of the option of wearing the multiple styles, company officials say.

Incidentally, having multiple wearing styles is called being a “convertible telephone headset,” according to company officials, who note the Plantronics CS55 also has a noise canceling microphone, “designed to block out up to 90 percent of the surrounding noise.” They peg its roaming range of up to 300 feet.

A couple weeks ago TMC’s (News – Alert) Janice McDuffee wrote that Plantronics “released an announcement from its board of directors citing a 1 million share repurchase to follow the program initially announced in August last year.”

Plantronics is also offering the Plantronics CS70N Wireless Headset. This has features much like the ones found on its CS55 cousin, and comes in an over-the-ear wearing style — “much like a Bluetooth cell phone headset,” so probably a good option for those comfortable with that.

It gives you six hours of non stop talk time, “more than enough for a typical user,” company officials say. It also uses the 1.9 GhZ frequency and DECT 6.0 wireless technology, with the main difference between this and the CS55 being the wearing style. Yes this one has the noise canceling microphone too.
