Noise reduction technology utilizes a miniature microphone placed inside the headphones that picks up outside ambient noise that shouldn’t be there. It reads the frequency and then tel the headphones to include a polarized frequency that is used to cancel the ambient frequencies. When a frequency is completely opposite, or polarized, the two frequencies clash and cancel each other out, hence noise canceling headphones.

I’m sure you can think of many uses for such a technology. Many people use them on airplanes to cancel out the noise caused by jet engines, some use it to “get away” from the noise of the house while still being there. How many times have you wanted to just watch your movie in peace without getting distracted by the cacophony of frequencies flying all around you.
